Trip Overview
Easy trek takes you through district forest conservation area, Khmu village, in the morning you will see many kinds of births and afternoon visit the conservation area ‘Ku Vieng’ ‘Mahapot Stupa’ and Vat Mahapot “the Ancient city and temple”.

Itinerary
Morning-Nature Trail. Approx. 2 hours
The best viewing of birds departure is at early around 8:30 am, for those who prefer a relaxed pace departure is after breakfast, arrive at Ban Num Mang, a traditional at Khmu village, where our village based guide joins us, from Num Mang, we ascent through rice fields and district forest conservation area. A top the mountain ridge, referred to as ‘MockMooch’ (a mountain) in Khmu language, we sit and take time to absorb the sights and sounds of the forest, this is area attracts many bird species with its fruit-bearing fig trees, which provide an abundant food source. Local guide will help you to recognize sights and sounds of bird, as well as tracks of wild animals. Moving through the forest, you will learn about common plants used by the Khmu people, the guide collects edible plants to add to the picnic lunch in the forest. [Meals: Lunch].

Afternoon-Explore the Ruins. Approx. 2 hours
In the afternoon, the descent from the conservation area to the plain takes us to the site of the Ancient city and temple, ‘Ku Vieng’ ‘Mahapot Stupa’ and Vat Mahapot, follow the map of the ancient temple area and price together its history, imagining the civilization that dominated this area more than four-hundred years ago. There should be enough time in the day to travel onwards to the Thai border at Huay Xai if you choose.

  • Duration: 1 day.
  • Departure: 9:00 AM daily from Vieng Phoukha; 8:00 from Luang Namtha town.
  • Difficulty: Easy walk-through fields, forest on small foot paths.

Pricing:
The price ranges from US$31/Person for 8 + Pax to US$115/Person for 1 Pax.

The price varies according to the number of participants. The price decreases as more tourists book the same trek!

Remark: the price above non-include transportation if you start the trek from Luang Namtha. If you start the tour from Luang Namtha you will pay more 60-80 US$ depend on transportations.

  • Please let us know in advance if you are vegetarian or other allergic.
  • Please be at our office at 8:30 AM if you start trek in Vieng Phoukha and 7:30 if you start in Luang Namtha town.

  • Please purchase handicrafts but do not purchase antiques.
  • Do not remove any archeological remains from the site of the ancient temples.
  • Always stay with the guides.
  • Do not use drugs.
